Valerie Telfair was born and raised in Westchester county New York and knew from an early age that she would reside in Florida one day. She arrived in southwest Florida in 1985 where she attended the University of Tampa and became a Delta Gamma. She earned a Bachelors degree in Marketing and was married in 1989. It was then that she made her home in the greater Sarasota area. Over the last twenty years Valerie and her husband have been raising their three children who keep them engaged in various sports based and community service based activities. As a result, Valerie has spent countless hours traveling throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties and has gained a wealth of knowledge regarding people, neighborhoods, schools, shopping, dining and other cultural venues.
